The Milwaukee Brewers hold a three-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays as the 2026 World Series enters its fifth contest.

Tampa Bay avoided elimination on Tuesday by winning a 12-inning game with a final score of 4-3. The result cut the Brewers' advantage to 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. The two teams will meet again on Wednesday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, with first pitch scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern Time.

Milwaukee, which has a 103-59 record, is projected to start Jacob Misiorowski. He enters the game with a 16-5 record and a 1.80 earned average. Tampa Bay, holding a 98-64 record, is expected to counter with Drew Rasmussen, who has a 16-5 record and a 2.67 earned average. The Rays have not yet officially confirmed their pitching decision.

Betting markets list Milwaukee as the favorite on the money line at -154, meaning a bettor must risk $154 to win $100. Tampa Bay sits at +128 on the same line. The total run line is set at 6.5. SportsLine's computer model, which simulates each game 10,000 times, projects a combined total of 8.4 runs for the matchup. The model favors the over on the total line, a position that has hit in four of the last six meetings between these clubs.

The model identifies specific players likely to contribute to the offense. It projects that Jackson Chourio and Jake Bauers will each record 1.5 or more total bases for Milwaukee. For Tampa Bay, the model expects Yandy Diaz, Junior Caminero, and Jonathan Aranda to post 1.4 or more total bases. The over has also hit in five of Milwaukee's last seven games and four of Tampa Bay's last seven.

The Brewers are seeking their first championship in franchise history. Tampa Bay is attempting to secure a second consecutive series win and return to a tie. The model entered the World Series with a 32-25 record on its top-rated money-line picks. It has returned more than $1,000 for players who wagered $100 units on those selections.
