Washington State Ferries canceled four overnight sailings between Mukilteo and Clinton on Friday to perform repairs on the terminal apron. The apron is the movable section of the bridge that connects the terminal to the ferry, allowing vehicles to drive on and off. The system said the last sailings out of the terminal were the 11:30 p.m. trip from Clinton to Mukilteo and the 12:05 a.m. return.
The cancellations affect the 12:35 a.m. Clinton to Mukilteo sailing and the 1:05 a.m. Mukilteo to Clinton sailing. Ferry officials did not specify why the apron required repairs. Regular service at the Mukilteo terminal is expected to resume on Saturday.
Service disruptions will continue into Sunday, November 1, due to crewing needs. The operator stated that crew changes are necessary to move other vessels around for maintenance, repairs, and inspections. These logistical adjustments will impact the #1 vessel route between Bremerton and Seattle.
Ten sailings on the Bremerton to Seattle line are canceled for Sunday. The affected departures include the 4:50 a.m. Bremerton to Seattle, 6:05 a.m. Seattle to Bremerton, 7:20 a.m. Bremerton to Seattle, and 8:35 a.m. Seattle to Bremerton trips. Later cancellations include the 9:50 a.m. Bremerton to Seattle, 11:10 a.m. Seattle to Bremerton, and 12:20 p.m. Bremerton to Seattle sailings.
The afternoon cancellations cover the 1:30 p.m. Seattle to Bremerton, 3:00 p.m. Bremerton to Seattle, and 4:15 p.m. Seattle to Bremerton crossings. Washington State Ferries provided the schedule details. The operator confirmed that the changes are tied to specific maintenance requirements and crew availability.
