Everett fans get their team back this week after a month-long absence from Angel of the Winds Arena. The Silvertips finished a three-game road trip with a win, a loss, and a shootout defeat. The team is now 5-7-1-3 with 14 points, placing them eighth in the WHL Western Conference. Six teams are separated by just two points in the standings pack.
The team lost to Regina 3-0 on Oct. 27 despite outshooting the Pats 34-19. Regina goaltender Taylor Tabashniuk stopped all shots on target. Ossi Tukio scored the first goal at 9:12 of the first period. Regina took a 2-0 lead just 54 seconds into the second period. Everett's defense struggled as the line of Caine Wilke, Atte Vuori, and Jaxon Vaughan, along with defenseman Jaxon Pisani, was on the ice for all three goals.
The Silvertips bounced back with a 4-1 victory over Swift Current. The Broncos took a 1-0 lead late in the first period, but Everett answered with four unanswered goals. Jaxsin Vaughan tied the game in the second period. Caine Wilke took the lead on a power play in the third. Hunter Rudolph added an insurance goal, and Lukas Kaplan scored an empty netter to finish the game. Everett goaltender Bennett Byers made 20 saves.
Everett fell to Moose Jaw 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday. Evan Enck made his first career WHL start, recording 32 saves on 34 shots. Henry Meier opened the scoring, but Griffin Darby tied the game. Rudolph regained the lead, but Riley Thorpe tied it again on the power play. Warriors forwards Mathieu Lajoie and Rasmus Kamarainen scored in the shootout while Vuori and Liske missed their attempts.
Hunter Rudolph earned first star of the week for scoring two goals and taking two shots in the shutout loss. Lukas Kaplan earned second star with three points and strong faceoff numbers. Enck took third star for his 32-save performance in his debut start.
The team plays three games in three days starting Friday. They face Medicine Hat at home, then travel to Wenatchee on Saturday. They return home on Sunday to play Tri-City. The Silvertips have a 2-0-0-1 record against Wenatchee and a 1-2-0-0 record against Tri-City this season.
