The City of Marysville announced two public events this month to honor local veterans, active-duty service members, and military families. The schedule includes a celebration at the Marysville Opera House and a program hosted by the American Legion.

On Tuesday, November 10, the city will host its annual Veterans Day Celebration from noon to 1:30 p.m. The event is located at the Marysville Opera House, 1225 Third St. Admission is free for veterans, service members, their families, and community members. Organizers will provide coffee and light snacks. Participants can register in advance through the city website.

The following day, Wednesday, November 11, American Legion Post 178 will hold a program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 119 Cedar Ave. The gathering honors veterans and their families. A free lunch will follow the program. Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations for the Marysville Food Pantry.

City Council members issued a proclamation on October 26 to recognize November as Military Family Appreciation Month. The document acknowledges the strength and sacrifices of families who support loved ones serving in the military. The proclamation is available for public reading.

City offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, to observe Veterans Day. The city encourages residents to attend the events to express gratitude to those who have served.
