Attorneys for Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs called new allegations of physical and verbal abuse "unsupported and stale" in a statement released on Sunday.

The legal team, led by David Z. Chesnoff, Richard A. Schonfeld, and Clarence F. Duchac III, issued the response two days after the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department in Wisconsin released 129 pages of records. These documents relate to Jacobs' May arrest following an incident at his home in the Green Bay area. The additional claims involve three women who came forward after that May arrest, with the specific incidents dating back to April 2021.

Jacobs previously pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges in September. He was convicted of battery, fined $1,000, and reached a deferred judgment agreement on a charge of damage to property. The newly revealed police file contains summaries of three telephone interviews describing events from 2021 and 2022. Jacobs denies all three accounts, stating he holds tangible evidence to support his version of events.

The attorneys noted that the Brown County District Attorney's office held these uncorroborated allegations for months. They argued the police file included only phone interviews taken years after the fact, with no further investigation. Jacobs was not given a chance to present his evidence to Hobart-Lawrence because the department took no action on the claims.

Regarding the first woman, the statement said she made a claim to the NFL, which reviewed it and decided no action was warranted. Jacobs kept evidence supporting his account and the league's decision, but the police report did not include that information. The second woman made a claim in 2021 after Jacobs called Las Vegas police to his home to report her for misconduct. A police report written that day undermined her claims, and no further action was taken after she left his home.

For the third woman, Jacobs denies any physical altercation. She initiated a visit to his Las Vegas home, where another person was present during part of her stay. She stayed overnight and left the next evening in a car she ordered herself. The ride receipt included in the police file aligns with Jacobs' account of how the visit ended.

The NFL announced on Saturday that it will investigate the additional allegations. Jacobs spent the first six weeks of the season on the commissioner exempt list. He was cleared to return in Week 7, though the league's investigation into personal conduct policy violations continues. His time on the exempt list will count toward any future suspension. Since returning, Jacobs has 32 carries for 75 yards and one rushing touchdown, plus 11 catches for 68 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
