The Israel Defense Forces began imposing special blockades on West Bank cities on Monday night. The measures aim to reduce friction between Israelis and Palestinians during the 26th Knesset election.

Troops stationed along the security barrier received reinforcements. This move addresses concerns that terrorists might attempt to infiltrate Israel. Additional security forces will also secure hiking sites throughout the West Bank where visits have been coordinated in advance.

Brig. Gen. Kobi Heller, commander of the IDF's Judea and Samaria Division, oversaw operations in several locations over the past 24 hours. He emphasized the need for strong coordination among the Israel Police, the Israel Border Police, and the Shin Bet. This joint effort is intended to ensure a rapid operational response to any incidents.

The first measure involves imposing breathing closures and temporary roadblocks. These allow controlled movement around cities, towns, and villages identified as potential flashpoints for violence.

Security forces also launched arrest operations in the Qalqilya, Jenin, and Nablus districts. These actions aim to increase pressure on the ground amid fears of terrorist attacks. Personnel conducted field interrogations and warned individuals accused of incitement.

A security official told Walla on Tuesday morning that IDF engineering forces were preparing to demolish illegal structures, terrorists' homes, and monuments. The goal is to combat incitement and prevent potential copycat attacks.

While operations continued, settler violence erupted in the Binyamin region overnight. Security forces were unable to prevent the torching of Palestinian vehicles. Meanwhile, troops from the Paratroopers Brigade, under Col. Roi Zweig, are conducting operations to combat nationalist crime in the Shiloh Valley.
