Lake Stevens will host No. 21 Woodinville on Friday at 6 p.m. in the Round of 32, marking the highest seed for an area team in this year's state football playoffs.
The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association has seeded eleven local teams across the 4A, 3A, 2A, and 1A classifications for games occurring Nov. 6 and 7. The Washington State Football Coaches Association committees completed the seeding process, though WIAA committees retain the authority to adjust seeds for the quarterfinals.
In Class 3A, Stanwood enters the tournament as one of four undefeated teams in its division. The No. 9 seed will host No. 26 Walla Walla at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Meadowdale, also holding a 9-0 record, is the No. 15 seed and will welcome No. 18 Evergreen of Vancouver to its home field. Snohomish, the No. 12 seed, will host No. 21 Seattle Prep. Meanwhile, Mountlake Terrace and Everett will both travel for their respective first-round matches.
No. 12 Glacier Peak will host No. 21 Woodinville in Class 4A. Arlington, the No. 28 seed, will play on the road against No. 5 Kennedy Catholic. In Class 2A, Archbishop Murphy is the No. 5 seed and will host No. 28 Hockinson. In Class 1A, No. 9 King's will host No. 16 Lakeside of Nine Mile Falls, while No. 15 Granite Falls will travel to face No. 11 Meridian.
Several games feature undecided opponents due to tiebreaker or crossover scenarios. In 4A, either Gonzaga Prep or Richland will visit No. 13 Mount Si. In 3A, Cheney or Kennewick will play at No. 8 Lakes. In 2A, Washington or North Mason will visit No. 4 Anacortes, and a three-way tie between East Valley of Spokane, Pullman, and Rogers of Spokane will determine who plays at No. 10 North Kitsap and No. 11 Burlington-Edison.
The schedule includes other area matchups such as No. 16 Peninsula hosting No. 17 Lincoln of Tacoma in 3A and No. 15 Eatonville hosting No. 18 Squalicum in 2A. In 1A, No. 12 Tenino will host No. 13 Riverside.
Dates and times for the remaining games are subject to change as the WIAA finalizes the schedule. The Round of 32 serves as the opening round for the official state postseason tournament.
