NPR puzzle answers named U.S. places
Listeners must identify twelve two-word locations and one large Minnesota city using specific initial letter clues.

National Public Radio released a Sunday puzzle that requires solvers to identify thirteen specific geographic locations within the United States. The broadcast air date is November 1, 2026.
Each answer consists of a two-word name for a city, state, river, mountain, or other feature. The clue provided for each item contains initial letters that match the first letters of the answer. For example, the clue Florida Locale leads to Fort Lauderdale.
The list includes Northeast Haven, Pioneers' Pinnacle, Storied Fire, and Molten Lava. It also covers Oil Capital, Lotsa Vacationers, Newlyweds' Favorite, and Dry (very!).
Further entries include Hydroelectric Development, Port Honolulu, and Engineered Channel. The list concludes with Health Spa. A separate category requests a three-word answer for Minnesota's Sizable Population.
Last week's challenge asked for two companies with logos that start with lowercase letters and contain a capital B inside. The correct answers were eBay and jetBlue. Deborah Freedman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was selected as the winner for that round.
This week's new challenge asks listeners to insert a three-letter body part into a four-letter body part to create a supermarket brand name. Submissions are due by Thursday, November 5 at 3 p.m. ET. Participants must include a phone number where the station can reach them.
